TEAMworks Ukraine was formed in order to begin working from the ground up to establish the worth of special needs children in Ukraine. The work began through the Clarks - a local family who had adopted special needs children from Ukraine.
Children's Therapy T.E.A.M. therapists took their first trip to Ukraine in 2006 with a vision and hope of breaking the cycle of abandonment and improving the lives and futures of special needs children in Ukraine. Annual trips to orphanages in Kharkov and Kramators'k that house special needs children have allowed the therapists to train the caretakers, and also provide parents of special needs children in the community with equipment and educational tools.
As TEAMworks Ukraine strives to keep these children in families and out of poorly funded institutions, they hope to create a resource center for families that assists, support and encourage them to this end.
